1 or two drops of essential oil if desired
Combine the ingredients in a bowl. Scoop some of the scrub onto your hand and massage gently onto your skin for a minute (the scrub will actually tighten onto your skin like a masque). Leave on for 3 to 4 minutes before rinsing.

I use stuff that has Dihydroxyacetone in it...That is the chemical that causes fruit to brown. I'm sure that the are some out there that have crazy chemicals in them, but DHA is naturally occurring in nature and won't hurt.
Forget that it causes cancer....It makes you look old!

Spray tans usually last up to two weeks at the most.

most spray tans last 10 days , top up when it starts to fade dont over do it though. Exfoliate before you spray to stop it going streaky.

Also, it can accentuate any unevenness in the tan, leave streaks on the back of your legs if you towel off improperly, etc. But as long as you use the clear solution, you should be fine. Can anyone tell me how many days prior to the holiday i should have one done. As its for a wedding i want a really good one. Could anyone recommend a good salon around covent garden / oxford st London?

I've had this problem before. What i did is i exfoliated and then i rubbed lemon juice on my feet. It really helped but it didn't get rid of it completely but at least it looked better. Do the best you can and then if you can't get all of it off you'll just have to wait a few days till it fades.

sally hanson airbrush legs is AMAZING. It looks incredible, and has NO orange in it- but it doesn't last as long because it's 'instant'. Having said that tho, instant tans start to look pretty dodgey within a week because the skin regenerates, which is about how long the sally hanson one lasts (if you don't scrub too much) %26amp; it doesn't just rinse off like most instant ones.
I use it on my face %26amp; body and don't even bother with make-up.

no you must shower, and exfoliate first!!!! they will tell you that at the spa...hopefully!!!
I'm no expert, but oil is gonna come in between your tan and your skin, so it wouldn't be advisable. Just don't go overboard with the tan if u still wanna look natural.

It mimics the colour of your skin so it doesn't make you look like some kind of freak it just makes you look like you've come back from a week in spain. It also gives you instant colour so you know what its going to look like before it developes.

1)apply a moistuiser to bottem of feet, ankles, knees' and hands then leave to sink in a bit.

3)wash palms of hands after woulds then moistuise your hands again to blend in the tan.

Make sure you don't go to bed for about 2hrs to be safe after you have had the tan. It does dry straight away but does have a small amount of residue that is known to discolour bedding..white and pale colours in particular.

I agree...St Tropez is the best fake tan to use. However it's expensive and it's very dark. So don't use it if you're pale as you'll look silly going from pale to having a really dark tan. You can wear a bathing suit, just keep in mind that you'll have tan lines just like you normally would if you wore a swimsuit while tanning, and don't wear your fav suit, cause it might get stained.
The spray tan works best if you already have a semi-tan but it'll still make you look sunnier and it's a lot less orange than the creams and home sprays, (plus A LOT more even and less messy). Also, no risk of skin cancer, (even tannning beds aren't safe).
I have to hold my breath while I get it, though, the chemicals bother me.

The good thing is it does not last. So if it is not for you you might have to deal with the wrong choice, for a few weeks. I am sure a Professional in spray tans can give you better advice on how it works. Unless you are allergic it won't hurt you.

If you are too pale the spray tan my leave you looking orange. Test a small part of your under arm...*hidden from the sun most of the time* If by the next day its not orange then your good to go!

honestly regular tan is awful for you [[tanning machines]] and the spray tan comes out orange on most people .....but i've searched it up for you =] and came up with some steps to follow before you do the spray tan so i comes out good =] :
1Shower or bathe right before getting the tan. It is best not to get wet for eight hours after getting the tan. The spray needs plenty of time to set in the skin.
Step2Shave right before you go get the tan. Shaving over the spray tan can shorten the life of the tan by days. If you wax, get that done days before the spray also.

The spray tan works best if you already have a semi-tan but it'll still make you look sunnier and it's a lot less orange than the creams and home sprays, (plus A LOT more even and less messy). Also, no risk of skin cancer, (even tannning beds aren't safe).

It stays on for 7-10 days and its never orange or streaky. If you go to Google and type in Dinair you'll find their site. That way u can look at pictures and stuff.

Finally, I decided to give the tanning bed another try, since I was sooo white, for the first week I went about 4 days that week, and only went for 3 minutes.. on the 2nd week, I went for 5 minutes for the first 2 days, 6 minutes for the 3rd day that week, and 7 for the next two days.. after that, you could really tell a difference, now I can go almost every day for 20 mins, and I am golden brown.. lol.. The suntan lotion I used is awesome, I got it from wal-mart and it's inexpensive, less than $4!! It's called Xtreme tanning, Xtreme intensifier with instant bronzer, the name brnad is Ocean Potion and the bottle is black.. the lotion works better than the spray (to me) Anyways, good luck!!!Whats a good spray tan or lotion tan?

It's just that if you're light enough to get a nice tan, and if that particular tanning solution isn't a good quality, you'll be stuck with that artificial orange appearance for a little while.
On the flip side, if you're dark enough that a tan doesn't look like much of anything on you, then you're better off using a shimmering illuminizer, just to accentuate your natural beauty

Go to your local high street chemist, they will advise you. Or, go to your local tanning salon, they should also have a range of products.
St Tropez is usually a foam which you manualy apply %26amp; can be streaky if not applied correctly.
Spray tan like the pros use requires a spray gun %26amp; compressor, have a look in home bargains (if there is one near you) they have the Babyliss or Rio Pro for less than æ‹¢15, you can feed this any solution you like.
Cheapest place for spray tan is eBay.

I second what Danielle said. Home spray kits are a waste of time. Personally I always have a mobile spray tanner visit me at home, so I can't comment on self tanners.

Go to your local high street chemist, they will advise you. Or, go to your local tanning salon, they should also have a range of products.
St Tropez is usually a foam which you manualy apply %26amp; can be streaky if not applied correctly.
Spray tan like the pros use requires a spray gun %26amp; compressor, have a look in home bargains (if there is one near you) they have the Babyliss or Rio Pro for less than æ‹¢15, you can feed this any solution you like.
Cheapest place for spray tan is eBay.

Use Loreal Gele self tanner, I go to tanning beds all the time, but when I want to look suuuper tan for something this is what I use, its the only one I found with perfect color. DO NOT DO IT! i did it in the summer and my tan was beautiful and i was afraid it would go away and it made it streaky and gross . no matter what you do it wont be perfect like a tanning bed or outside. i say you live with being a bit pale for a while and than tan it up when its sunny !

The chemicals are pretty safe - some ingredient's in some sunblocks are worse.
The SUN will do way more damage to your skin than a fake tan.
Tanning salons are your best bet, they also will have different shades and will have a pretty good idea of the end result.
It's a bit of a gamble doing it yourself, as it is really hard to get a uniform colour.

It's because hands and feet have little areas of dry skin that ';catch'; the spray tan (cuticles, nails, etc) and look orange. Next time, exfoliate those areas extra extra and it shouldn't do it. To fix it right now, trying washing and exfoliate roughly and it should help. I hear nail polish remover helps too, but it might just be an myth.
this is the deal, it will just wear away, lemon does not work, nothing really does. next time, put Vaseline on your hands and nails and on the bottoms of your feet and heels, where ever you do not want to be orange. exfoliate everywhere before you go, hands and feet as well. ask for the light spray and not the dark. believe me you will get the hang of it, it just takes time.

Morbid question about spray tan on a dead body?
I'm trying to figure out what color, exactly, a person that has died after getting a spray tan would look like. They're obviously brownish after being tanned and that's been dyed in to the skin, but their skin would turn pale after a few hours... so would they just be pale? Or would they stay brownish? Would they change to a sickly shade of gray?

My guess is that since the tans like kinda stained on the persons body would stay somewhat tan, but not nearly as tan as before because the skin under the tan would be so so pale.
Plus dead bodys kinda get a grayish tint to them so it would probably be gross looking clearly. That's just a guess tho cus lucky for me I've never seen a freshly spray tanned corpse lol

Once I got food poisoning, and ended up hugging my toilet all night - even though I felt green from head to toe, I looked relatively healthy because I had a faux tan on. I think the same would go for a dead body!

Which is better tanning beds or spray tan?
i would suggest spray tanning. now a lot of people say ''it makes you look fake, or streaky, or orangey'' but as long as you get if from a pro than it looks completely real and golden. i get them all the time. also spray tanning has evolved in the past years so its not how it used to be.
now dont get me wrong. tanning beds are cool but they cause serious skin damage and keep doing it and youll turn into a prune. and you also come out like a grayish tan so ot looks fake because you look mexican. lmao
if you choose spray tanning here are some tips:
-dont where tight clothes to your session.
-dont put your clothes on for about 20 minutes after youve been sprayed.
-DO NOT put on makeup right after you tan.wait until you take a shower in 8 hours or more. [this will make you blotchy. ive done it =[ ]
-when taking a shower [the 1st time after your session] dont scrub, jus rinse off.
-moisturize! it will make your tan last longer [it last about 10 days]
